Trọng sinh phấn đấu ở tám linh niên đại

Nobody told me I’d balled my eyes out reading this novel. I did not expect any angst whatsoever since it’s seldom for this kind of genre. But I was wrong and was up til 4am crying while reading this book.

In this first life of the female lead, she didn’t get along with the male lead’s mother and sister and her marriage is a shell of what she has hope. The husband is indifferent to the argument between the females in his life and often time criticizes the female lead for her temper. From being a young naive but very in love with the male lead, she became tired and frustrated for she put out much more for him than he did her. She died of colon cancer in his arms but vow that if there’s a second life, she wished they’d not be married and she wants to reconcile with her mother and brothers. The book started off with her reborn in the second life where she’s motivated to make money to support her family and stay away from the male lead and his family. The male lead is surprised by the sudden change in the female lead and because of this he realized his feeling for her. He’s always in love with her from the moment they first met. Despite him trying to get back with her, she’s adamant to go separate ways. She’s successful in her career and reconciled with her family but she found herself with colon cancer again and died when she’s still young. Male lead goes about his everyday life until half a year later when he finally able to secure enough money for his family and help everyone around him, he went to her grave and died in a snowy day. He then wakes up in supposedly their third life in their early relationship and decide to spend his life caring for her and protecting her. They live happily ever after in this lifetime along with their two children.

This book caught me off guard as I didn’t think the author would kill the female lead character off in the second lifetime. Most novels would finish off their love story in the second lifetime so I expected the same. I love love the innocent love the female lead had for the main lead in their first lifetime. It’s unfortunate that he didn’t realize it until the end of the second lifetime. I love that she had a bubbly personality with him but that young and naivety was killed by the treatment she received from him and his family. She attributed all the angst she felt to loving and marrying him which I think isn’t really fair to him but understandable because she never really mature even in the second lifetime. Their love is beautiful but 3 lifetimes is too long to have a happy ending and correct all misunderstandings. Not every couple get to be with each other for that long.
